Racist remark against Filipinos? I don’t think so.

Sorry, people. I’m not easily offended by the mere inclusion of a supposed Filipina in a comedy show, who’s obviously just an actress and obviously portraying a fictional character, who is a domestic helper in a fictional story. If it were some offensive remarks made by a BBC news reporter or talk show host, I would have been one of those who’ll make sure that everybody knows I’m insulted by it. But sorry, not this one.

Humor may differ from culture to culture. But I suggest my fellow countrymen to look first into our own Pinoy films before going after BBC, screaming “racist!”. Perhaps, just a reminder that we, too, have been racists towards Americans, Chinese, Europeans, and all other races. And also, to have an idea what really are racist remarks.
